I’m obviously into art that is extremely intricate as of late and this one takes the cake. Berlin-based installation artist, Chiharu Shiota, creates, amongst many things, incredibly detailed installations using enormous amounts of string. Absolutely mind-boggling.

Studio K – New York Map Cut-Out
This is incredible and certainly one-of-a-kind. North Carolina based artist Karen O’Leary has taken paper and hand cut maps of New York City and the surrounding boroughs. This is absolutely amazing and want one immediately.

O’Spada
Really really really digging this Swedish band: O’Spada. Their two songs: Ten Strikes and Time, both have deliciously mixed sounds harkening back to the early 90′s dance music but with a little more pop edge. Check them out!

Fred Lebain
I really love this simple yet effective photo series by photographer, Fred Lebain. Fred visited New York last spring, took a photo series of several locations, made large prints of the locations and then re-shot them the following spring with the large photos in the shot. The end effect is very interesting.

Lady Gaga – Poker Face (Acoustic)
I went from not liking Lady Gaga to finding her enjoyable to loving her to now being full blown Beatles-fan obsessed. While her fashion and style is incredible, completely forward and interesting, she’s an incredible musician, singer and quite a good dancer. When is she is interviewed she can be Andy Warhol one second and then Maya Angelou the next. I submit my unworthiness.
This is from a recent performance on a Japanese talk show. Fashion? Beautifully cut grey business suit. Quirk? Brown Elephant Hair Piece. Talent? Playing the piano (classical and jazz licks!) and singing the best I’ve ever seen her.
